2022 Domaine Jacques Cacheux Vosne Romanee Aux Genaivrieres

Soul Hook: A poised Vosne-Romanée that balances bright red fruit with fine tannic structure — Burgundy clarity without pretense.

Why choose it?
1) Village terroir precision -> Delivers classic Cote de Nuits minerality and lifted red-fruited purity you can enjoy young.
2) Thoughtful élevage -> Gentle oak handling preserves freshness while adding spicy framing, so you get complexity without heaviness.
3) Versatile dining partner -> From roast duck to cheese courses, it elevates food without overpowering it.

Winery & Vineyard Notes: Domaine Jacques Cacheux farms small, well-sited parcels in Vosne-Romanée where calcareous soils and cool nights favor finesse. Vines are tended for balance and low yields, focusing on energy and terroir expression.

Winemaking Notes: Traditional Burgundian vinification with careful sorting, modest extraction and aged in a mix of new and seasoned wood for structure and subtle spice. The 2022 expresses bright primary fruit framed by mineral tension.

Sommelier’s Note: On the nose, red cherry, wild raspberry and a whisper of dried herbs. Palate is medium-bodied, energetic acidity and silky tannins carrying layers of red berry and forest-floor spice. Decant 30–60 minutes to reveal the deeper mineral seam and lengthen the finish.

Occasion (Hong Kong): Ideal for an intimate dinner after work — pair with roast duck at a neighbourhood Cantonese restaurant or serve at a small gathering with charred vegetables and Gruyère.

Competitive Edge: Offers Vosne-Romanée allure and village-level complexity at a fraction of top-tier grand cru prices — a smart pick for collectors and dinner-party hosts seeking authenticity without headline markup.
