2020 Domaine Jacques Cacheux Vosne Romanee Les Raviolles

Tasting note: A poised Vosne-Romanee showing pure red-fruit lift — cherries, raspberry and wild strawberry — layered with violet florals, sous-bois and a touch of baking spice. The palate is medium-bodied with bright, energetic acidity, fine-grained, silky tannins and a mineral-tinged, persistent finish.

Producer notes: From a small family domaine in Vosne-Romanee that prioritises terroir expression. The Les Raviolles bottling aims to reflect the village’s elegant profile: precise, restrained and very food-friendly.

Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested fruit undergoes gentle fermentation with attentive extraction to preserve aromatics. The wine sees élevage in French oak barrels for a period that adds structure and subtle spice without overwhelming the fruit, and is racked carefully before bottling to retain freshness.

Vineyard notes: Les Raviolles lies on well-drained, calcareous soils typical of the commune, with exposures that favour ripeness while preserving acidity. Vines are managed for low yields and healthy fruit, producing concentrated berries that translate into fine texture and clear terroir definition.
