Tasting Note: Bright, refined and classically Vosne — the 2023 Les Maizieres Hautes opens with a bouquet of red cherry, raspberry and delicate red florals, underscored by forest-floor complexity and a cool mineral thread. On the palate it shows poised acidity, silky, fine-grained tannins and a medium body that carries savory spice and persistent mineral-tinged fruit to a clear, lingering finish.
Producer Notes: From Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, an estate long associated with Vosne-Romanée's elegant style under the stewardship of Jean Mongeard. These parcels are handled with low yields and careful selection to emphasise finesse and terroir expression.
Winemaking Notes: Fermentation is carried out with gentle extraction and attentive cap management to preserve aromatic lift. The wine sees élevage in French oak barrels (a portion new) for roughly 12–18 months, followed by bottle ageing to integrate oak and refine texture.
Vineyard Notes: Les Maizieres Hautes sits within the classic Vosne-Romanée tapestry of clay-limestone soils with good drainage and moderated vigor. Vines are managed for balance and concentration — a focus on canopy work and fruit selection ensures purity and energy in the glass.
