This is one of Domaine Guigal’s signature Côte‑Rôtie bottlings: deep ruby in the glass with an intensely aromatic nose of black and red fruit—blackberry, morello cherry—lifted by floral notes and spicy pepper. The palate opens supplely, revealing concentrated fruit framed by elegant, finely textured tannins and a clear mineral thread from the stony Côte Brune soils. Winemaking is meticulous: thermoregulated stainless steel fermentation with automated punch‑downs and an extended four‑week maceration, followed by long élevage—42 months in new oak—giving spice, vanilla and a rounded, powerful structure without losing finesse. Vineyards sit on siliceous limestone and schist-derived clay rich in iron oxide; vines average about 25 years. Drink from now into the medium term (2022–2045); decant an hour to 90 minutes for best expression. Excellent with roast lamb, grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses.
