The palate is lush and syrupy yet kept poised by lively acidity, finishing long with warm spice and honeyed persistence.
Producer notes: From the cellars of Masi Agricola under Sandro Boscaini’s stewardship, this Amandorlato Classico expresses the estate’s mastery of concentrated, sweet styles. The wine showcases Masi’s long experience in drying techniques and careful maturation to achieve balance between sweetness and structure.
Winemaking notes: Grapes are traditionally dried to concentrate sugars and flavours before fermentation, a process that accentuates dried fruit, toffee and nutty nuances. Fermentation and ageing are managed to preserve freshness — the wine typically sees a period in large casks and attentive oak maturation to integrate spice and vanilla notes without overwhelming the fruit.
Vineyard notes: Fruit comes from Valpolicella hillside sites where warm daytime sun and cool nights promote aromatic concentration. Soils with calcareous and alluvial elements deliver mineral lift beneath the rich fruit. Low yields and selective harvesting of ripe bunches ensure intensity and complexity.
