Part of the L'ÉVOLUTION collaboration between Mortlach and designer Philippe Starck, 'Become' is a decisive expression of Speyside single malt character at 46% ABV. On the nose you'll find layered aromas of dried orchard fruit, fig and raisin, warmed toffee and dark chocolate, threaded with orange peel and gentle smoke. The palate is full-bodied and muscular yet surprisingly silky—savory, almost meaty Mortlach character framed by oak spice, black pepper and molasses sweetness. The finish is long and warming, leaving a persistent leather-and-spice echo.

Producer notes: Mortlach Distillery, a historic Speyside producer now under Diageo, lent its signature robust spirit to this artist-led series. The L'ÉVOLUTION collection explores how design and cask selection can shape aroma and texture, and 'Become' showcases Mortlach's concentrated, savory profile.

Production notes: Distilled in traditional copper pot stills at Mortlach, the spirit was matured in carefully selected oak casks to build density and complexity, then bottled at 46% to preserve aromatic depth and mouthfeel. No overt chill-filtration claims are necessary here—the bottling aims to retain the whisky's natural oils and structure.

Vineyard / region notes: There are no vineyards here—this whisky is rooted in Speyside's clean spring water, locally grown barley and the microclimate around Dufftown. The rolling farmland, cool climate and expert craftsmanship of the distillery combine to yield a malt that balances fruit, oak and savory depth.
