品飲筆記:這款歐本11年以濃郁又清晰的海風鹹感打頭,再以熱帶水果(芒果、木瓜、荔枝)的甜香跟奶糖、鹹焦糖交織,尾段由朗姆酒桶帶出溫暖香料與悠長餘韻。口感飽滿,入口有油潤的中段,微微胡椒與草本香讓整體更有層次。
酒莊背景:歐本坐落於海邊小鎮,是典型的西高地風格小型酒廠,生產以手工與傳統為本的單一純麥。現為大型集團旗下,但仍保留典雅的釀造與窖藏方式。
釀製過程:麥芽經發酵、蒸餾後先於傳統歐洲與美國橡木桶熟成,特別以朗姆酒桶做後熟,帶來那種熱帶水果與糖化香甜。高酒精度使香氣集中,稍作醒置或加少許水,香氣與質地會更圓潤、油潤感提升。
田地與原料:雖非葡萄酒,但原料來源講究——選用優質大麥與受海風影響的發酵環境,使成品保有海岸礦物感與鹹味的細緻表現。整體是適合慢飲、細細品味的海岸風味威士忌。


Tasting note: Bright and bold at 58% ABV, this special-release Oban opens with coastal salt and Himalayan-salt minerality over a core of tropical fruits — mango, papaya and ripe lychee — then drifts into salted caramel, rich toffee and bright citrus peel. Ground pepper and herbal notes add savory lift while the rum-cask finish layers warmed spice and lingering sweetness.
Producer notes: From Oban’s small coastal distillery — a recognisable West Highland house style — this bottling keeps the distillery’s maritime character but pushes it into new territory with a rum cask finishing maturation that adds exotic sweetness and a long, spicy tail.
Winemaking (distilling) notes: Matured predominantly in ex-bourbon casks before a period of finishing in selected rum casks, the whisky shows concentrated oak-derived toffee and caramel alongside tropical esters. High ABV preserves intensity; a few drops of water (or 10–15 minutes resting in the glass) softens alcohol heat and releases lime-marmalade and oily mid-palate textures.
Vineyard / sourcing notes: While not a vineyard wine, the whisky’s character owes much to its raw materials — locally sourced barley and coastal fermentation — and to careful cask selection. The combination of seaside maturation influence and rum-barrel finishing produces a rounded mouthfeel and long, salted-toffee finish.

Owned by Diageo, Oban produces relatively limited volumes, focusing on careful cask selection and traditional distillation that highlight coastal minerality and nutty-toffee characters.
