2022 Opus One Overture

Napa

Soul Hook: Plush Napa expression — luxury texture without the theatrics.

Why choose it?
1) Estate terroir focus -> Delivers layered texture and consistent depth from Opus One's best sites.
2) Multi-vintage blending -> Softer, rounder profile that’s enjoyable on release.
3) Thoughtful oak ageing -> Velvet mouthfeel with just enough spice to lift the fruit.

Winemaker & Vineyard Notes
Overture is crafted as a harmonious estate reflection: lots from Opus One’s varied soils are blended (and across vintages) to accentuate texture and balance. Extended barrel ageing polishes tannins and integrates subtle roasted notes without hiding the fruit core.

Sommelier’s Tasting Note
On the nose: dense dark fruits—blackberry, cassis and black cherry—lifted by violet and a touch of espresso roast. Palate: broad, mid-to-full bodied, silky tannins and a supple frame that carries concentrated fruit into a long, rounded finish. Drink now with light decanting or cellar through the decade for added complexity.

Occasions & Pairing
Ideal for celebratory dinners, refined relaxed gatherings or as a standout gift. Pairs beautifully with roast or grilled red meat, hearty pasta ragù, and mature cheeses.

Competitive Edge
Opus One Overture offers estate provenance and the house’s meticulous blending at a more accessible price than the flagship bottling—luxury texture and immediate approachability in one bottle.
