Tasting note
This Riserva from a single Vigna Munie parcel in Bussia reveals a deep garnet robe and an intense, layered aromatic profile. Ripe black cherry and plum sit alongside blackberry, floral notes and a lift of mint, while toasted oak, cocoa and subtle tobacco add complexity. The palate is generous and concentrated: soft yet lively acidity frames ripe, well-developed tannins that feel polished and almost silky after cellaring. Long, seductive and persistent on the finish. Producer & winemaking: Selected only in top vintages as the Etichetta Oro Riserva, fruit is hand‑harvested into small holed baskets, followed by a long maceration and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Fermentation is managed without added sulphites and timing and temperature are carefully controlled. Ageing is carried out in small oak barrels for at least 18 months on lees, followed by extended bottle aging at a controlled 15°C. Vineyard: The Vigna Munie site in Bussia (Monforte d’Alba) sits with a south–south‑west exposure; meticulous selection in the vineyard and gentle handling at harvest preserve concentration and aromatics. This bottling rewards decanting and has the structure to age gracefully for decades.
