Bright and poised, this Langhe bottling opens with a lift of red cherry, dried rose petal and a hint of tar, then reveals leather, tobacco and savory herb notes. Medium-bodied with taut acidity and fine-grained tannins, the palate shows stony minerality and a lingering, slightly spicy finish. The wine comes from a small family operation in the Langhe hills, run by Virna — continuing a household tradition focused on expressing site and balance. Grapes are handled with a respectful, traditional approach: careful sorting, extended maceration to extract mature structure, and ageing in large neutral casks to preserve aromatic clarity. Vineyards sit on well-drained calcareous-clay soils with good exposure, giving lively acidity and mineral definition. Serve after a generous decant to allow perfume and texture to emerge; pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, earthy risottos and cured meats.
