Tasting note: Deep amber in the glass with a bouquet of dried apricot, prune, orange peel, warm caramel and toasted oak. On the palate it’s rich and rounded — silky texture with layers of spice, walnut, leather and honeyed fruit. The alcohol gives a gentle warmth while the finish is very long, revealing rancio nuances and lingering toffee. Producer notes: Delord is a family house with roots back to 1893 when Prosper Delord travelled with his alambic. The current estate continues that tradition from Lannepax, working carefully through harvest and distillation to preserve aromatic purity. Winemaking notes: Grapes are harvested, pressed and vinified separately near the distillery. Temperature control, settling and racking are used to produce a slightly acidic, aromatic base wine ideal for distillation. Delord employs both the region’s continuous distillation and double distillation methods. The eaux-de-vie are matured in a mix of oak barrels and tanks; older vintages are sometimes kept in glass bonbonnes to protect them from light. Vineyard notes: The estate’s 45 hectares are divided into 11 parcels around Lannepax. Meticulous vine care throughout the year yields concentrated, balanced fruit destined for long-lived Armagnac.

Delord is a multi-generation Armagnac house founded in 1893 by Prosper Delord, a travelling distiller. Based in Lannepax, the family estate manages about 45 hectares split into small parcels. The distillery combines traditional continuous distillation with double distillation when desired. Cellars hold over a thousand barrels and a number of oak tanks; the oldest eaux-de-vie are conserved in glass bonbonnes in a room known as Paradise.
