Tasting note

色澤深寶石紅,帶紫色光暈。打開杯蓋便有豐富的紅黑果香與烘烤橡木、香料和一抹咖啡可可氣息。口感寬闊飽滿,但結構分明:活潑的酸度支撐起濃郁果味,單寧堅實且有細緻感,尾韻持久。酒莊在釀造上相當講究——採收後先以人工挑選,再以光學篩選去除瑕疵,進行約一週的低溫浸皮,加入非酵母菌群以減少早期亞硫酸使用,發酵期間每日翻桶,最後在法國橡木桶熟成18個月。葡萄園散落於聖朱利安約80公頃,平均樹齡約38年,產出兼具力量與優雅、適合陳年的經典風格。建議醒酒一段時間再飲,配烤牛排、紅燴或成熟硬質起司特別合拍。

Deep garnet with purple highlights, the 2018 Chateau Léoville Poyferré opens with an exuberant bouquet of ripe red and black fruit, toasted oak and spice. The palate is broad and generous yet structured, showing vivid freshness beneath dense, well-built tannins. Winemaking emphasizes precision: double sorting (hand then optical), a week-long cold pre-fermentation maceration, introduction of non-saccharomyces yeast to reduce early SO2 use, daily pump-overs through fermentation and 18 months ageing in French oak. The vineyard is spread across some 80 hectares in Saint-Julien with an average vine age around 38 years, yielding a wine of depth, elegance and long ageing potential. Serve after a good decant; pairs beautifully with grilled red meats or rich, mature cheeses.

Chateau Leoville Poyferre is a historic Second Growth estate in Saint-Julien owned by the Cuvelier family. The team, including viticulturist Bruno Clenet and winmaking led by Isabelle Davin with cellar master Didier Thomann and consultant Michel Rolland, focuses on rigorous sorting, precise cellar work and élevage in French oak to express the terroir of its dispersed vineyards. The estate manages some 80 hectares of vines with an average age near 38 years.
