Tasting note
2010 Chateau Lynch-Bages is a classic Pauillac expression from a landmark Fifth Growth estate, showing the concentration and longevity of an exceptional vintage. The growing season was very dry with cool nights, producing small, thick-skinned berries that delivered deep colour, intense fruit and firm tannic structure. Hand-harvested and sorted, fermentation follows traditional gravity-fed methods in thermoregulated steel vats, with careful extraction and maturation for 15 months in French oak (70% new). The nose opens with ripe blackcurrant and blackberry layered with cedar, graphite, tobacco and baking spice; subtle cocoa and pencil-shaving oak frame the fruit. On the palate it is full-bodied, powerful and concentrated, driven by fresh acidity and dense, finely woven tannins that promise long-term evolution. Producer notes highlight its deep colour, complexity, freshness and tannic density — a wine built to age. Drinking window extends for decades; decant for around 90 minutes if enjoying now, or cellar for further integration.
