Deep ruby with purple edges, this Gigondas shows generous ripe dark fruit — blackberry, black cherry and plum — threaded with classic garrigue notes of rosemary and thyme. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and warm, with layers of black pepper, baking spice and a touch of leather and cocoa from gentle oak ageing. Tannins are firm yet polished, giving structure to a long, spicy finish. Ready to enjoy now after a good decant, it will also cellar gracefully through the early 2030s. Ideal with roast lamb, slow-braised beef or rich Mediterranean dishes.
