Luminous and opulent, this Goldene Kapsel Beerenauslese from Kinheimer Hubertuslay reveals layers of honeyed apricot, orange marmalade and candied citrus peel, underpinned by warm botrytis spice and a touch of ginger. On the palate it is viscous yet remarkably lithe — concentrated sweetness balanced by bright, persistent acidity and a long, saline-tinged finish. Hand-harvested bunches of shriveled, botrytised fruit are carefully sorted on-site, gently pressed and fermented slowly at cool temperatures to preserve aromatic complexity. Maturation in neutral vessels and careful lees contact add texture and depth while maintaining clarity of fruit and minerality. From steep, slate-rich slopes in Bernkastel, yields are tiny and yields focused on purity — a dessert wine built for aging that already offers immediate charm.
