2022 Opus One (375 ml)

Soul Hook: A Napa legend — poised, powerful and poised for the long haul.

Why choose it? 1) Estate provenance -> Oakville parcels (To Kalon included) give depth and lineage you can taste. 2) Meticulous winemaking -> 19 months in oak and exacting harvest decisions deliver polished structure without losing vibrancy. 3) Age-worthy profile -> Dense fruit, refined tannins and layered spice reward patience and elevate special occasions.

Sommelier's Note: The 2022 Opus One steps forward with dark currants, kirsch and red florals over damp loam and graphite notes. The palate is plush yet tightly-knit — chocolate, espresso and toasted oak frame a long, savory finish. Drink now with an hour's decant for early enjoyment, or cellar for further integration.

Occasions / Pairing: Ideal for a hotel anniversary dinner, a roast-beef celebration at home, or paired with a charcoal-grilled fillet. Works beautifully with richer Cantonese roast meats and aged cheeses.

Competitive Edge: Compared with headline Napa bottlings, Opus One pairs world-class pedigree with meticulous blending and Oakville terroir — offering collectible cachet and immediate presence.

Winemaking Notes: Hand-harvested from four estate parcels, grapes undergo careful sorting and 19 months ageing in French oak. Modern techniques are integrated where they enhance craftsmanship, always with the founders' uncompromising quality in mind.

Winery

Opus One is the joint venture of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. Focused on uncompromising quality, estate vineyards span four parcels in western Oakville (including To Kalon land). Hand-harvest, careful sorting and 19 months in oak define the cellar approach; modern tools are used selectively to enhance expression.
