2023 Valli Bannockburn Vineyard Pinot Noir (375 ml)

Soul Hook: Bannockburn intensity in a meticulously crafted 2023 bottling.

Why choose it?
1) Distinct site expression -> Bright red fruit with cool-mineral lift gives clarity in every glass.
2) Thoughtful élevage -> 11 months in French oak (27% new) and 35% whole-bunch fermentation create structure without heaviness.
3) Proven pedigree -> Fruit sourced from Felton Road & Hall Road delivers both precision and ageing potential.

Sommelier's Note: Aromas open to red cherry and plum, threaded with lavender, forest-floor notes and a subtle liquorice spice. Medium-bodied and energetic, the palate shows plush fruit balanced by lively acidity and velvety, refined tannins that carry to a long, savoury finish. Gentle whole-bunch lift gives floral and herbal lift; oak is supportive not dominant.

Winemaking & Vineyard: Fruit comes from Bannockburn sub-sites including Felton Road & Hall Road. Fermented with ~35% whole bunches, matured 11 months in French oak barrels (27% new). The result is a focused, terroir-driven wine with clear definition and ageing potential.

Occasion: Elevates a relaxed Hong Kong weekend roast duck dinner, pairs beautifully with an intimate lamb rack or a richer Asian curry. Best enjoyed after a short decant or 1–3 years in bottle.

Competitive Edge: Offers Burgundian elegance and Central Otago energy at a fraction of top-tier Burgundy prices — distinct vineyard selection and modern yet restrained oak make it high value-for-quality.
