2021 Coup de Foudre Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting note: Intense aromatics open with ripe dark berries—black currant and blackberry—layered with graphite, dark spices and a subtle iodine/mineral edge. On the palate the wine is concentrated and powerful: cassis and melted dark chocolate mingle with meaty, savoury notes and firm, velvety tannins that give a Bordeaux-like structure and a long, persistent finish.

Producer notes: Crafted by a small Napa producer under John Schwartz, this bottling was conceived for concentration and aging potential. The team highlights dark fruit intensity, deep complex tannins and a mouthcoating finish.

Winemaking notes: Fermented and carefully managed for extraction, then matured in oak to integrate fruit and tannin and to add complexity—yielding a polished yet muscular wine. Limited production (approx. 750 cases) and finished with a traditional cork closure.

Vineyard notes: Sourced from Napa Valley sites on well-draining soils in the North Coast, the fruit reflects warm days and cool nights, producing ripe phenolics and concentrated flavors. Low yields and hands-on viticulture emphasize quality and age-worthiness. Drink now after a good decant, or cellar through the stated drinking window for further development.
