2017 Chateau de la Maltroye Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru 'Dent de Chien' (1500 ml)

Tasting Note: Ripe but finely tuned, this Premier Cru opens with citrus blossom, lemon curd and white peach, layered over toasted almond, browned butter and subtle vanilla. A clear stony minerality threads the palate, giving lift to a rich, creamy mid‑palate and a long saline finish.

Producer Notes: From a respected single‑vineyard bottling, Château de la Maltroye's La Dent de Chien expresses classic Chassagne weight and finesse. The estate focuses on balanced élevage and site expression, producing wines of precision and aging potential.

Winemaking: Fermented and matured in French oak with careful lees contact to build texture and complexity. Malolactic conversion and barrel ageing round the edges while retaining bright acidity and minerality.

Vineyard: La Dent de Chien sits on a stony, limestone‑rich slope with favourable exposure, producing concentrated fruit and mineral drive. The 2017 vintage shows ripe fruit from a warm year, tempered by the site's natural freshness.

Serve slightly chilled and allow 30–60 minutes of decanting for the wine to open. Ideal with roasted white meats, richer fish preparations and mature cheeses.
