2018 Domaine St Patrice Clos St Patrice Monopole

A concentrated Châteauneuf monopoly: generous, savoury and built to age.

【Why choose it?】
1) Single monopole Clos – clear provenance and tiny production, giving a focused, authentic expression. -> Rarity and traceability you can taste.
2) Powerful yet polished structure – ripe fruit wrapped in fine tannins. -> Drinks well now after decanting, or cellars for more complexity.
3) Classic terroir signature – sun-baked stone, herbal garrigue and savoury depth. -> Matches robust proteins and bold flavours.

【Winery & Vineyard Notes】
Clos Saint Patrice is a monopole site within Châteauneuf-du-Pape: a walled parcel worked for quality rather than volume. Vines sit on the appellation's characteristic galets and warm, Mediterranean soils producing concentrated fruit and natural ripeness. Harvesting is selective; winemaking focuses on preserving depth and structure with careful extraction and extended élevage to integrate tannin and spice. Estate-bottled in limited quantities.

【Sommelier's Private Note】
On the nose: dried dark berries, floral lift and a savoury overlay of bark, smoke and roasted meat. On the palate: full-bodied, dense centre with a velvety mid-palate, fine but firm tannins and a long, focused finish—decant 60–90 minutes for peak openness. Ideal for a special dinner: slow-roast lamb, game ragù or a bold charcuterie board.

【Occasion】
Perfect for Hong Kong dinner gatherings where food is bold—Cantonese roast or braised pork, festive lamb mains, or a winter game menu with friends.

【Competitive Edge】
Compared with big-name bottlings, this Clos monopole gives a true single-site Châteauneuf intensity and character at a more accessible price point—limited production rather than marketing spectacle.
