On the palate it’s smooth and rounded — vanilla, butterscotch and gentle dried-fruit notes arrive first, followed by warm baking spice and a steady oak-driven backbone. The finish is warm and lingering, with sweet oak and spice echoing. Producer notes: Dewar’s, founded in Scotland in 1846, is celebrated for expert marrying and consistent house style. This 15-year expression showcases the blender’s art: marrying matured components to achieve balance, approachability and depth. Winemaking (distilling/maturation) notes: A carefully selected assembly of malt and grain whiskies matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and seasoned oak casks, with some influence from sherry-seasoned casks for added dried-fruit and spice complexity. The blend is married and rested to harmonise the oak, honeyed sweetness and spice layers.
