Tasting Note: Dark and concentrated, this single-vineyard release shows layers of blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum at the core, wrapped with notes of black pepper, cocoa, cedar and vanilla from careful oak maturation. The palate is full-bodied and plush yet driven by firm, fine-grained tannins and a warming 14.5% alcohol, finishing long with lingering spice and mineral hints. Producer Notes: Sourced from the Coach House (formerly Branson Coach House) vineyard near Greenock, the named block stood out in blind barrel trials and has been treated as single-vineyard material since purchase in 2001. This bottling reflects the site’s consistency and the winery’s commitment to express terroir. Winemaking Notes: Fermented and matured in oak, the wine benefits from attentive winemaking under Ben Perkins. The program emphasizes balance between ripe fruit extraction and integration of new and seasoned oak, producing a concentrated yet polished wine built for medium-term ageing. Vineyard Notes: The fruit comes from a special block on deep grey-red loam with coarse quartz and ironstone gravel over clay near Greenock in the Barossa. Managed by Travis Coombe, the site yields rich, structured fruit that retains a mineral backbone despite the warm vintage.
Two Hands Wines has built a reputation for focused single‑vineyard expressions from premium South Australian sites. For the Coach House Block, the winery identified a standout parcel within an 18‑acre plot and treated it as single‑vineyard material after purchase in 2001. With Ben Perkins leading winemaking and attention to site-driven viticulture, the producer seeks concentrated fruit framed by thoughtful oak.
