Tasting note

Bright and focused, this Rosso di Montalcino shows vivid red-cherry and tart-plum aromas edged with savory herb, warm spice and a mineral seam. On the palate it delivers lively acidity, firm but ripe tannins and a medium-plus weight that carries persistent flavors of leather, tobacco and dried herbs. Produced by the Costanti family from hillside sites at 310–400m, the wine reflects rocky, galestro soils and mature vine plantings. Gentle maturation (large casks and stainless steel to preserve freshness) keeps primary fruit upfront while allowing savory, earthy layers to develop. Best enjoyed after a short decant to open the aromatics and soften the tannic frame; a versatile match for braised meats, tomato-based dishes and rustic regional fare.

Winery

Conti Costanti is a family-owned estate cultivating some 25 hectares of land, of which about 12 hectares are vineyards, plus olive groves and woodland. Vineyards sit between 310 and 400 meters above sea level on predominantly galestro (shale) soils dating to the Cretaceous; exposures were chosen carefully. Vine ages range from roughly 6 to 25 years. The family's attentive viticulture and low-yield approach aim to concentrate flavor and express the site’s stony minerality.
