Tasting note: A layered Speyside single malt that opens with a fragrant mix of dried vine fruits and orchard notes—think raisins, orange marmalade and baked apple—overlaid with honey, vanilla and gentle malt. The Port-cask double-maturation adds a plush red-fruit sweetness and soft toffee tones, while a faint smoke and toasted oak provide balance. On the palate it is silky and rounded, with warm spice (ginger and clove), roasted nuts and a long, lingering finish with subtle tannic grip from the cask. Producer notes: Produced by Cragganmore in Speyside, this Distillers Edition follows the distillery’s tradition of complex, aromatic spirit. After primary maturation in traditional oak casks, the whisky receives a secondary finish in Port (ruby-style) casks to impart richer fruit and sweeter spice notes. Winemaking / distillation notes: Made from malted barley and distilled through Cragganmore’s distinctive stills, the spirit is known for its malt-forward, layered aromatics. The double-maturation regime—classic cask then Port-cask finish—adds depth without overwhelming the original character; careful marrying in the rickhouse creates an integrated palate.
