Tasting note
Tasting Note: A Pomerol that balances elegance and power — ripe red and dark berry fruits open to violet and subtle herbal notes, with hints of orange zest, fig and dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied, with silky texture, fresh acidity and fine, well-integrated tannins leading to a lingering, spiced finish. Producer Notes: Château Nénin is presented as a classic Pomerol 'vin de garde' combining tension and refinement. The estate emphasizes careful vineyard work and patience to reveal the wine’s ageing potential and freshness. Winemaking: Harvested in early October, the 2013 vintage underwent meticulous sorting and ageing for 16 months in oak, with around 40% new barrels. The élevage and judicious oak use give the wine structure without overpowering its fruit. Vineyard & Vintage: The 2013 season was challenging — late flowering after a cool spring, careful canopy management and cover crops preserved grape health. Delayed ripening and selective harvest produced concentrated flavors that have softened with time but retain backbone and precision.
