Tasting note

2023 年的這款酒展現出飽滿又優雅的個性:成熟黑果與漿果甜感先上,隨之而來的是雪松、煙草、橄欖與一抹乾香料(類似辣椒粉)的香氣。口感厚實但不笨重,果味濃郁且被細緻而有支撐力的單寧包裹,法國新桶帶來的香草與烘烤香與礦質感相互平衡,讓整體更加精緻。酒莊建築本身兼具美感與實用性,室內還以原住民文化符號設計點綴,充份表現出尊重土地的精神。葡萄來自 Puente Alto 的高地葡萄園——貧瘠的礫石與黏土層、良好排水與較低pH,使葡萄成熟度與礦感取得漂亮平衡。釀造上以分地塊不鏽鋼槽冷浸、再回溫進行發酵,自發性轉酸乳酸,輕柔籃壓取酒,最後於法國橡木桶熟成約十九個月。建議醒酒約一小時,配烤紅肉或野味特別合拍。

The 2023 release shows a dense, polished profile—ripe dark-berry fruit layered with cedar, tobacco and a hint of olive and paprika. On the palate it’s full-bodied and generous: concentrated fruit framed by refined, precise tannins, supportive French oak spice and a saline minerality that keeps the richness focused. Producer notes highlight a purpose-built bodega, conceived to blend aesthetic and function, with interior references to native Mapuche culture. Fruit comes from the highest parcels of Maipo's Puente Alto, where shallow, rocky alluvial soils and good drainage give wines minerality, balance and natural acidity. Vinification uses parcel-adapted stainless steel tanks with controlled cold maceration, warmed for fermentation, spontaneous malolactic conversion and gentle basket pressing; the wine then matures about 19 months in predominantly new French oak. Approachable now with an hour of decanting, it will cellar comfortably for many years.

Almaviva is a joint-venture estate conceived as a meeting of Chilean terroir and classical winemaking savoir-faire. The bodega, designed by Martín Hurtado and inaugurated in 2000, uses native woods and architectural lines that echo the Andes; interior décor nods to Mapuche heritage. Owned by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the estate reserves select high-elevation parcels in Puente Alto and combines careful parcel vinification with extended French oak ageing.
