The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Animo is deep garnet-purple colored and opens with a waft of cedar chest, giving way to notes of baked blackberries, crème de cassis, espresso and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, it has taut, muscular fruit and a firm, rugged frame, finishing a little firm. WA 92+ JS96

【Sommelier Notes】
Dark black-fruit core — blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry — threaded with black licorice, dried lavender and sage. Oak spices of vanilla and cedar lift the mid-palate; a graphite/tar underpinning and grainy, refined tannins carry a long, persistent finish. Medium–full body; decant 60–90 minutes to open up the aromatics and soften the power.
