Why this bottle? 1) Estate pedigree -> Proven terroir and consistent quality from a historic Saint‑Julien estate; 2) Approachable power -> Youthful concentration with a refined frame that opens with moderate decanting; 3) Value edge -> Classic Bordeaux character at a fraction of grand cru prices.

Winemaker notes: Selected lots from the estate are vinified with gentle extraction, matured c.12–14 months in French oak (approx. 25% new). The result is a polished, medium‑full red showing dense dark fruits, cedar, tobacco leaf and mineral graphite, supported by ripe yet firm tannins.

Sommelier’s private note: On first pour you’ll get brooding black fruit and cedar; after 45–60 minutes the mid‑palate loosens and reveals plum, spice and a saline mineral thread. Tannins are present but fine-grained — drinkable now with decanting, will cellar a decade-plus if wanted.

Occasion: Weeknight roast, celebratory family dinner or a small dinner party pairing with grilled red meat and earthy sides.

Competitive edge: Carries the stamp of a great Cru Classé estate but in a second‑label format — classic structure and terroir expression without the premium of the grand vin.
