The 2019 Blason d'Issan is a delightful expression of the Margaux terroir, crafted from the youngest vines of the estate. This medium-bodied wine opens with enchanting aromas of flowers, cherries, and currants, leading to a palate that is fresh, soft, and supple. The silky tannins and vibrant energy make it approachable now, while its structure promises further development. Aged for 14 to 16 months in barrels, one-third of which are new, this wine offers a harmonious blend of fruit and oak, finishing with a mineral touch. Blason d’Issan, the second wine of Château d'Issan, was introduced in 1995 to allow for selection among the vines growing in the Margaux appellation. The fruit from the youngest vines is used to produce this wine, which respects the identity of its terroir while offering a tasty round fruitiness that can be enjoyed earlier. Blason d’Issan is aged in barrels for 14 to 16 months, with one-third being new. The annual production is around 120,000 bottles.
