Tasting Note: Bright red-cherry and raspberry aromas open with hints of forest floor, dried herbs and a discreet spicy note. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied with lively acidity, silky yet present tannins and a mineral-tinged finish that lingers.
Producer Notes: From Joliet et Fils’ Manoir de la Perrière, this Premier Cru reflects the estate’s focus on site expression: hand-harvested fruit from the Clos, careful sorting and restrained use of oak give priority to clarity and terroir.
Winemaking Notes: Traditional Burgundian vinification — gentle extraction, native and selected yeasts, and maturation in well-judged oak (partial new barrels) to add structure without masking fruit. The 2018 vintage shows ripe concentration balanced by freshness.
Vineyard Notes: The Clos de la Perrière parcel sits on stony, limestone-influenced soils with good drainage, producing grapes with compact fruit, aromatic lift and an underlying mineral core. Yields are managed for concentration and balance.
Serve slightly chilled after decanting (about 45 minutes) for best aromatic lift. Pair with roast duck, game birds, mushroom-based dishes, veal in sauce or aged semi-hard cheeses.
