The 2013 Marchesi Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore is a wine of great elegance and finesse. This polished, linear red boasts aromas of black-skinned fruit, bell pepper, coconut, and toasted oak. The vibrant, elegantly structured palate offers black currant, chopped herb, clove, and licorice alongside fine-grained tannins. Produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a touch of Petit Verdot, this wine represents the complexity and elegance of the Bolgheri terroir. The grapes are sourced from vineyards on alluvial soils with a composition ranging from clay-sand to clay-loam with rocky deposits. The 2013 vintage was cool, with a long growing season that allowed for excellent fruit development. The wine was aged in new small oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation, and was then blended and aged further before bottling.
