Tasting note

Tasting Note: Bright and focused on the nose with lemon zest, green apple, white blossom and a hint of wet stone. Secondary aromas of toasted almond and lightly buttered brioche unfold with air. On the palate it shows lively acidity, a creamy mid‑palate and a fine saline minerality that frames citrus and orchard fruit. The finish is long, with gentle toasty spice and almond lingering. Producer Notes: From Domaines Famille Picard, this Premier Cru from Le Charmois reflects the estate’s parcel-driven approach and attention to classic Burgundian balance. The domaine is known for careful vineyard selection and restrained yields to concentrate flavour. Winemaking Notes: Fermented and aged partly in oak with a proportion of older barrels to preserve freshness while adding subtle toast and texture. Lees ageing with periodic stirring (batonnage) contributes to the wine’s creamy mouthfeel; malolactic fermentation is managed to retain vibrancy. Vineyard Notes: Sourced from the Le Charmois Premier Cru exposition in Saint-Aubin — limestone-rich soils with clay pockets and good drainage. Cool nights and modest yields give pronounced minerality and precise acidity, while optimal sun exposure ensures ripe stone-fruit aromas without heaviness.
