A landmark Saint-Emilion from a top Premier Grand Cru Classé estate, this 2000 vintage is concentrated, powerful and remarkably refined. The nose opens with layers of dark berry fruit—blackberry, black cherry and cassis—framed by spicy, floral and menthol notes, with tertiary hints of truffle, tobacco and leather. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured yet silky: bright core fruit gives way to polished, ripe tannins and a lingering, intense finish. Carefully selected fruit (only about half the crop made the grand vin in 2000) was aged in new French oak, producing a plush texture and significant ageing potential. Ideal with roasted or grilled red meats, richer game dishes and mushroom-driven cuisine. Serve after a generous decant to let the complex aromatics fully unfurl.

Château Cheval Blanc is one of Saint-Emilion's most revered estates, classified Premier Grand Cru Classé A. Under the management of Pierre Lurton and ownership including Bernard Arnault, the château focuses on meticulous vineyard care and strict selection in the cellar. The 2000 vintage saw a rigorous selection where only a portion of the harvest became the grand vin; the wine was aged extensively in new French oak to build texture and longevity.
