Chateau Gruaud-Larose 2006 is a brilliant showcase of classical Saint-Julien craftsmanship, now drinking at its absolute peak. On the nose, it greets you with an expressive and layered bouquet of dried black fruits, sweet cherry, warm cedar wood, tobacco leaf, and a sophisticated touch of forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied, round, and texturally elegant, showing beautifully integrated, velvety tannins shaped by long, patient aging in premium French oak barrels. The estate's meticulous double-sorting process and biodynamic approach to their ancient gravelly terroir result in a savory, structured wine with remarkable depth and a wonderfully persistent finish.
