The 1998 Chateau Margaux is a classic representation of the esteemed Margaux appellation. This wine boasts a medium to deep ruby-red color and exudes aromas of lifted red fruit, vanilla, and cocoa-butter. On the palate, it is dry and tight with balanced acidity and fine cedary tannins that currently close up the attractive fruit promised by the aromas. The wine is finely balanced with a passable length, but it needs time to better display its fruit. The producer notes highlight the great freshness of red berry fruit, mingling with hints of vanilla and roasted coffee beans.
