2007 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc

A mature Pessac‑Léognan classic: oak‑aged richness meets a saline, citrus core.

【Why choose it?】
1) Estate pedigree -> Decades of Cathiard stewardship ensure precision and ageing potential; you buy provenance.
2) Oak & lees ageing -> Deep, layered texture and long finish that reward food pairing and cellaring.
3) Proven vintage depth -> 2007 shows honeyed maturity without losing vibrancy.

【Sommelier's Note】Direct pressing and barrel fermentation followed by full lees ageing give this wine a waxy, oily mid-palate lifted by citrus zest, honeyed melon and gentle toasty oak. Expect a rounded, almost tactile mouthfeel with bright citrus acidity keeping the palate lively; finish is saline, spicy and persistent.

【Occasion / Pairing】Perfect for celebratory dinners or impression-making business meals: pair with rich, oily fish, creamy poultry dishes or a washed-rind cheese board. Decant 30 minutes to open the layers.

【Winemaking & Terroir】Produced by Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte under the Cathiard family, the wine is classic Pessac‑Léognan style — gravely soils, careful vineyard selection, direct pressing, barrel fermentation and full lees ageing in oak for structure and complexity.

【Competitive Edge】Compared with larger-name bottlings, this offers intense Pessac character and long-term ageing at a relatively attractive price point — excellent value for collectors and serious drinkers.
