Tasting note: Bright garnet in the glass. The nose opens with vivid red berry aromas—wild strawberry and red cherry—layered with floral hints, dried herbs and subtle spice. On the palate the wine is concentrated yet refined: silky tannins frame ripe dark cherry and cranberry notes, while a streak of mineral and fresh acidity keeps the profile tense and precise. The finish is persistent with a hint of forest floor and peppery spice. Producer notes: From the Gros family estate, this Grand Cru comes from prized parcels in Grands-Echezeaux. The domaine is known for careful, low-yield viticulture and an attentive approach in cellar, aiming to translate the unique terroir of Flagey-Échezeaux into a precise, age-worthy expression. Winemaking notes: Fermented with attention to gentle extraction to preserve purity of fruit, the wine typically spends extended élevage in French oak (a portion new) to integrate structure and spice without overwhelming the natural finesse. Bottled with minimal intervention to showcase site character. Vineyard notes: Sourced from steep, stony slopes of Grands-Echezeaux with limestone-rich clay soils that provide mineral lift and concentrated flavour.
