The palate is creamy and medium‑full with a buttery texture, lively acidity and well‑integrated oak that frames a persistent, elegant finish. Producer notes: From the Famille Paquet portfolio produced at Domaine des Valanges, Les Cras represents a focused single‑site expression from Saint‑Véran. The estate works to preserve freshness and purity while allowing careful oak ageing to add complexity. Winemaking notes: Grapes are gently pressed, fermented in French oak with a portion aged on fine lees. Malolactic fermentation is handled to soften edges while preserving tension; ageing in seasoned and new barrels adds subtle spice and toasted notes without overwhelming fruit. Vineyard notes: Les Cras sits on compact, limestone‑influenced soils in the Mâconnais, with well‑drained slopes and moderate yields. Cooler nights and sunny days promote ripe fruit flavours balanced by natural acidity, producing wines with texture, minerality and a refined backbone.
