The 2018 Opus One is a testament to the pursuit of uncompromising quality. This wine offers profuse aromas of blackberry, cassis, and black cherry, with elegant notes of violets, white pepper, and rose petals. The flavors build to a crescendo of fresh and juicy black fruit, accented with hints of orange zest, licorice, and dark chocolate. Beautifully balanced, the smooth round tannins and fresh acidity create a soft, creamy mouthfeel and extend the flavors into a long persistent finish. The wine is aged for 17 months in new French oak, adding complexity and depth. Perfectly paired with rack of lamb, roast duck breast, filet mignon with goat cheese and port sauce, or cranberry sauce leg of lamb.
