Tasting Note: Bright and inviting on the nose with ripe tropical fruit, toasted almonds and freshly grated nutmeg leading into a floral heather peat smoke. The palate is a richly layered interplay of lemon zest, aromatic fenugreek, apples caramelised in honey and warm cinnamon; cedar-smoked sweet paprika and woody spices build towards a long, citrus-oil edged finish. Producer Notes: Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion hand-selected 36 casks for this release — a marriage of ex-bourbon hogsheads, first-fill sherry‑seasoned European and American oak, and ex‑Rioja casks laid down between 1998 and 2001 — bringing together sweetness, spice and maritime smoke. Distillation & Maturation: Distilled and matured on Orkney, the spirit benefits from a long, temperate cask ageing regime. The cask mix (sherry, American oak/bourbon, Rioja) imparts layered dried fruit, toffee and spice, while restrained peat from Orkney’s heather adds floral smoke. Serving Suggestion: No formal decanting required; allow 10–20 minutes in the glass to open up. Serve neat or with a few drops of water to reveal extra citrus and honeyed notes.
