Tasting Note: Rich mahogany in the glass, Classic Cut opens with a heady mix of caramel, orange zest and warm nutmeg spice. Layered dried fruit and vanilla emerge from sherry-seasoned oak, leading to a full, creamy palate with toasted oak and a long, satisfying finish. Producer Notes: Created as the inaugural release in The Macallan’s annual Classic Cut series, this edition showcases flavours unlocked by higher bottling strength. Matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks from Jerez, Spain, it aims to deliver an indulgent sweet-and-spicy character. Winemaking/Distilling Notes: Distilled at The Macallan’s historic Speyside estate and bottled at c.50–52% ABV, this limited release is non-chill filtered and finished with a T-top cork. The higher strength amplifies cask influence and aromatic detail. Vineyard/Estate Notes: From The Macallan’s Easter Elchies home on the River Spey, the expression reflects meticulous cask selection rather than vineyard terroir — Jerez-seasoned oak is the defining landscape here.
