The 2022 Lagavulin 'The Distillers Edition' Double Matured Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a powerhouse of flavor, double-matured in ex-bodega Pedro Ximenez cask wood. This process imparts an intense, raisiny sweetness that beautifully complements the smoky power of the regular release. On the nose, it is satisfying and enticing with intense peat and vanilla, balanced by a raisiny sweetness and crisp, roasty malt. The palate is sweet and luscious, with clear malt and smoke filling the mouth, accompanied by a very salty tang, coffee, vanilla, and a hint of fruit.
