Aberlour 18 Year Old Double Sherry Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky Batch 1

A refined 18-year-old single malt from Aberlour, finished in a double cask regime of sherry-seasoned and American oak. The nose opens with freshly baked apple and blackcurrant crumble, juicy pear and bright lemon bonbons. On the palate this release shows marzipan and cranachan notes overlaid by lemon zest, toasted oak and milk chocolate — a balance of sweet sherry influence and warm oak spice. The finish is smooth, sweet and lingering, with a honeyed, slightly spiced aftertaste.

Producer & winemaking notes: Matured for 18 years, this expression blends second-fill hogsheads with sherry casks and American oak to deepen fruit and nutty characters while preserving Aberlour’s signature orchard-fruit brightness. Batch 1 reflects careful cask selection under Pernod Ricard ownership to deliver silkiness without overpowering oak.

Serving suggestion: Pour into a tulip glass, rest ~15 minutes to open aromatics, and enjoy neat or with a few drops of water to reveal citrus and subtle aniseed layers.
