1966 Delord Vintage Armagnac is a mature, classically aged spirit from a house with roots back to 1893. Aromas of dried fig, prune and toffee rise from toasted oak and sweet vanilla; a thread of leather, warm baking spice and toasted nuts adds complexity. On the palate it is full-bodied and rounded, with concentrated dried-fruit flavors balanced by bright, refined acidity and a silky, long finish. Producer notes: The Delord family began with a travelling distiller at the end of the 19th century. Today the estate in Lannepax combines tradition and careful cellar work: temperature-controlled vinification, winter distillation using both continuous and double-distillation methods, and attentive ageing in a varied set of oak casks and glass bonbonnes. The oldest eaux-de-vie rest in a light-protected room known as “Paradise.” Winemaking & vineyard: The base wines are vinified and settled close to the distillery and distilled in winter to preserve aromatic freshness. After distillation the spirit is matured in cellars of barrels and tanks, giving layered oak, spice and nutty development. Expect an elegant yet powerful vintage Armagnac, ideal for contemplative sipping or pairing with rich desserts and aged cheeses.

Delord is a family house founded from the itinerant distiller tradition in 1893. Based in Lannepax, the estate combines careful vineyard work across 45 hectares with temperature-controlled vinification near the distillery, wintertime distillation using both continuous and double-still methods, and ageing in a broad array of oak barrels and glass bonbonnes. Cellars hold more than a thousand barrels; the oldest vintages are kept in light-free glass “Paradise.” The house focuses on aromatic, slightly acidic base wines ideal for fine distillation.
