Description

This wine has always been popular in the English marketplace, but less so in the United States. The 2010 is a classic Bordeaux with hints of cedar wood, red and black fruits, new saddle leather and an attractive, spicy, earthy, character. The acids seem much sweeter than I remember from some of the vintages from 20 years ago, but the wine is round, generously endowed, well-made and medium-bodied. It should drink nicely for at least a decade. A member of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois du Medoc.

Tasting note

The 2019 Chateau Cissac from Haut-Medoc is a testament to the Vialard family's dedication since the 19th century. This firm wine boasts finely textured black fruits underpinned by plenty of dry tannins. The wood aging process has smoothed the fruit and deepened its concentration, resulting in a wine that is both complex and elegant. With notes of earthy tobacco leaf and sweet red currants, this medium-bodied wine offers a bright, fresh, and zesty profile. Perfect for pairing with grilled lamb chops, roast beef, mature cheeses, or a wild mushroom risotto. Decant for an hour to fully appreciate its depth and character.
