Tasting note

The 2019 Chateau Leoville Barton is a powerful yet elegant wine from the esteemed Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux. This vintage reveals intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and a touch of mocha on the nose. On the palate, it is fleshy and velvety, with precise and silky tannins that lead to a very nice length. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth. The vineyard, located on one of the most beautiful hilltops of Garonne gravel, benefits from a clay-gravelly subsoil that regulates weather variations perfectly. Traditional plowing methods are used, and the harvest is done entirely by hand. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, beef tenderloin, mature cheeses, and roasted duck.

Chateau Leoville Barton is a historic winery located in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux. Owned by Lilian Barton, the estate is renowned for its traditional winemaking methods and exceptional terroir. The vineyard is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. The grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted before undergoing fermentation in thermo-regulated wooden vats. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, resulting in a wine of great complexity and aging potential.
