The 2016 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Les Vergelesses is a testament to the classic and savory profile of Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru wines. With a bouquet that weaves red fruit aromas with earthy undertones and a hint of spice, this wine promises a complex tasting experience. The palate is well-structured, offering a harmonious balance between acidity and tannins, leading to a satisfying finish. Decanting for 30 minutes allows the wine to express its full range of flavors, making it an excellent companion to dishes like roast lamb or duck breast with a berry sauce. Aged cheeses or a hearty mushroom risotto would also pair beautifully with this wine's robust character.
