Tasting note
Tasting note: Bright, tensile and expressive — aromas of pear, ripe melon and Mirabelle plum unfold alongside a spicy, leesy edge and clear slate minerality. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm, vibrant acidity and impressive concentration; shows depth and structure with an extremely long, wet-stone finish. Producer notes: From the excellent Steffensberg site at Krov, fruit is farmed with organic attention and picked to preserve freshness and site character. This bottling represents the estate’s focus on terroir-driven, precise dry wines. Winemaking notes: Gentle, cool fermentation with some lees contact to add texture and complexity; bottled under screw cap to retain clarity and freshness. No heavy new wood influence — the mineral slate signature is front and center. Vineyard notes: Sourced from steep, slate-rich slopes in the Mosel valley where cool nights and river-reflective warmth help the fruit ripen while keeping vibrant acidity. South- and southeast-facing terraces on the Steffensberg vineyard concentrate slate-driven minerality and energetic lift.
