1996 Ceretto Barbaresco Bricco Asili Faset (3000 ml)
1996 Ceretto Barbaresco Bricco Asili Faset (3000 ml)
Tasting note: Mature and complex, this Barbaresco opens with concentrated black-cherry and dried-rose aromas layered with notes of tar, cured leather and porcini. Creamy oak and sweet spice frame the fruit while the palate shows striking energy — high, bright acidity and very fine, dense tannins carry flavors through to a lengthy, savory finish.
Producer notes: From Ceretto, a long-established Piedmont house now under Trinchero Family Estates ownership. The winery is known for meticulous site selection in classic Barbaresco crus and careful cellar work that balances tradition and modern precision.
Winemaking: Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with extended maceration to extract refined tannic structure and aromatic complexity. The wine is aged in oak barrels to integrate spice and texture, then bottle-aged to develop tertiary notes.
Vineyard: Sourced from the Bricco Asili and Faset hillside exposures of Barbaresco — calcareous marl and limestone soils with favorable sun exposure that produce concentrated, structured fruit. The site gives wines with freshness, aromatic lift and aging potential.
