Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir has a very pretty, floral scented nose with notes of roses and violets over a core of cranberries, Bing cherries and pomegranate. Light to medium-bodied, the palate gives a wonderful intensity of perfumed red berries with just enough herbal and earthy lift, supported by finely grained tannins and harmonious acidity, finishing long. A great showing for Cloudy Bay!

The 2019 Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir from Marlborough, New Zealand, is a testament to the region's ability to produce world-class wines. This Pinot Noir is light and perfumed, with an alcohol content of 13.3%. It presents a classic and expressive nose, abundant with red cherry, blackberry, and intriguing notes of salami and seaweed, all wrapped in a luxurious smoky bacon-fat and vanilla oak. On the palate, it delivers a delightful array of Victoria plum, loganberry, and autumn fruits, all bound together by fine, silky tannins and balanced with a juicy acidity. The finish is long, although slightly short, but the wine remains exceptionally moreish. With a decanting time of 30 minutes, this wine pairs beautifully with duck breast, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheese.
